Shofar East London began beginning 2008 with a simple desire: to gather people around Jesus and build a community rooted in His presence
What started as small, intimate meetings in a local restaurant with just a handful of people, quickly began to grow. As more lives were touched and more people found a place to belong, those humble beginnings expanded into a thriving church community of hundreds.
As the church grew, so did the need for a dedicated space to call home. From those early days, Shofar East London moved into the building we’ve now called home for over 15 years. It’s a place where countless lives have been transformed, relationships built and faith strengthened.
At the heart of Shofar East London are Pastors André and Sonika Kruger, who carry a deep love for the church and its people. Their passion is to see the Bride of Christ made beautiful and fully alive in God’s purpose.
Today, Shofar East London continues to be a vibrant, growing church in East London, committed to raising disciples, building authentic community, and living out the call of Jesus in everyday life.
What began with a few people around a table has become a family, and there’s always room for more.

We are called for revival. To be continually revived by God's presence and to release revival to others. Every heart that awakens to God's love has experienced revival.

Authentic revival impacts the home. It moves beyond the individual's heart being revived to bring transformation to the home, to our marriages, our children, and loved ones.

We believe that God has called Shofar East London to impact East London and to bring revival beyond this city. We serve an extraordinary God with massive plans for His glory.
André is passionate about leading people into intimacy with God and equipping individuals to become all that God has destined them to be. André is married to Sonika and together with their son, Wian, they love to serve the Bride of Christ (the local and wider Body of Christ).
JP has been serving at Shofar East London for over a decade. He oversees the Lifegroups and other pastoral matters. An avid outdoorsman, you will regularly find him and his family, following trails in the bush or scaling mountain peaks.

Reon, Leigh & daughter Kyra enjoy family time together, entertaining and loving people. As business owners Reon’s passion is to raise up Kingdom generation leaders be it his staff in the work place and his business associates.
Since meeting as students in Shofar Stellenbosch 18 years ago, Deon and Koba have structured their lives around serving the church. Together with their sons, Michael and Stefan, they form a unique and potent team.
Alan enjoys surfing, swimming and spending time on the beach. He is married to Rosie and together they are passionate about missions, the prophetic and investing into peoples lives.
