If your spiritual life were likened to a home, then Sunday church would be the foyer – welcoming, vibrant, and full of life. But Lifegroups? That’s the living room. It’s where you sit down, take a breath, and truly connect. It’s where conversations go deeper and friendships are formed.
Lifegroups are gatherings in homes where we intentionally build relationship with one another while growing in our relationship with the Lord. It’s where we support each other through life’s highs and lows. It is where we are encouraged, challenged, and equipped to live out our faith boldly and practically.
This is where church becomes family
Our home groups meet in different areas across the city. Together, we pray, go deeper in God’s Word, encourage one another, and walk through real life, side by side. Lifegroups are spaces to grow in Christ, build meaningful relationships, and activate what we’re learning on Sundays in everyday life.

You’re welcome to join a group that is closest to you or most convenient from the available options. You can also let us know which area you live in – it helps us identify where new Lifegroups are needed in East London.
Once you sign up, the Lifegroup leader will personally reach out to you with all the necessary details – including the day, time, address, directions, what to expect, and what to bring. You’ll also be added to a WhatsApp group where you can stay connected and receive weekly updates.
You’re welcome to contact the church office, and we’ll help you connect with a couple of groups that you can visit and try out before committing. We want you to feel at home and find the right fit.
Our Lifegroups are made up of people who attend Shofar and consider it their spiritual home. You’re very welcome to visit a group and get to know who we are. However, we also encourage you to join a home group connected to the church you consider your home congregation.
